In her four-part series MATERIA PRIMA, Ukrainian contemporary artist Svitlana Dudenko explores the primordial forces that shape our world: Air, Earth, Fire, and Water.
The Latin expression Materia Prima, meaning prime matter, evokes the philosophical and alchemical idea of an original substance from which all forms emerge.
Through expressive abstraction, rhythmic movement, and a sophisticated dialogue of colors, Dudenko transforms these elemental forces into four distinct yet interconnected visual experiences.
AIR — The Poetry of Freedom
A luminous composition of turquoise, celestial blue, and delicate pearl-white circles evokes the invisible movement of air. Floating forms suggest breath, freedom, spiritual openness, and the infinite possibilities of existence.
EARTH — The Energy of Creation
Warm terracotta, crimson, golden yellow, and organic green intertwine in a dynamic landscape of growth. Spiraling lines and flowing structures suggest roots, seeds, and the perpetual regeneration of life.
