The First Breakfast turns a simple morning ritual into a small theatre of light and rhythm. A glass pitcher rises like a quiet monument, while the cup and saucer—drawn with confident, charcoal-like gestures—anchor the scene in tactile warmth. Around them, turquoise accents flicker like sparks of freshness, cutting through a sunlit field of ochre that feels both domestic and celebratory.
Dudenko’s language here is intentionally pared back: she allows the contour to speak, and lets the white breathing spaces act as pauses between notes. The composition reads like a modern still life, but it also carries the tempo of memory—those first minutes of the day when the world is still soft, and every object seems newly named. In this work, everyday tableware becomes a symbol of renewal: glass, porcelain, and light choreographed into a calm, collectible moment.
